Show and Tell - Dinosaurs

Suzy has started her own show and tell!  I love these types of posts because it gives little snippets of insight into blog friends that you might not see otherwise.

We have gathered a large number of Lego products in the relatively short time that we have been parents.  M was a Lego kid and I grew up with them, as well.  Both kids like to play with them, throw them, eat them, etc...  More recently, they have become more interested in actually creating things with them.  L's current obsession with dinosaurs inspired M to create this Lego (duplo) dinosaur.

Lego Dinosaur

I can do a lot of things.  I can cook, clean, wipe tears, put those tiny little rubber bands in baby hair, and participate in toddler dance parties.  I cannot, however, build representational art with Lego.  I am so glad that the kids have a dad that a) loves Lego as much as they do and b) has the artistic ability to make things that actually look like....things.

I think L is happy, too.

Roar!

  1. Ack! So cute! I'm very impressed he could make the dino, in 3-D nonetheless! My version would be flat, on the floor and much less intimidating. :)

    And a dinosaur no less!!

I cannot wait to see what they do when they get older!

My son LOVES Legos...he is into the sets that create worlds (Star Wars, Spongebob).

  5. How awesome!

I'm with the rest...my dinosaur wouldn't be quite so nice. Unless it came in a kit with detailed instructions.

  6. That is awesome! Your M and my M have that same talent. My ILs have a trunk full of Legos that were collected over the years for their 2 sons. When eBay first came out M started buying huge lots of Legos so that his kids would have a head start on them. Our attic is full of them, but they are all the regular small ones. Smooch has a lot of the Duplos and Mega Blocks and loves to create things with M who can make all kinds of creative things. I on the other hand can only make something if I have the directions.
