It Begins

We had the annual Thanksgiving feast at work today. As you can see from the dessert table above, there was a lot of food. The holiday season has begin and, as usual, I have decided on gifts for friends and family and will be looking for the best deals possible.

The kids will be more aware of what's going on this year, especially L. I am getting E a baby doll and a doll bed that I saw at Ikea. L is getting a toy garbage truck that makes noise. (I'm sure I'll regret that choice.). I try to limit my parents to 2 gifts for each kid but it hasn't worked, so far.

I can't think of anything I really want. I guess a new point and shoot camera or an iPhone 4G, but money is tight with big property taxes looming, so I might just opt out of gifts. What do I really need, anyway? It's much more fun watching the kids enjoy theirs.

I think E is making her list right now...

What are you asking for this year?

  2. Isn't it crazy that you go through the year finding things that make you say "hmmmm, I might like having that" and then when it comes time to actually getting a gift, your mind is either a blank or you find a way to say things like "nahhh, I don't really need that."

This year I am getting a smaller SLR digital camera because lets face it, I really don't have the energy to lug my big pro camera around anymore with a toddler and a puppy. :)

  3. I'm definitely glad I've started keeping a wish list in my planner! Although, I don't have it with me now, so....off the top of my head: I'll ask for Starbucks gift cards, and probably some books. I always feel too guilty to ask for anything big!
If we're moving anytime soon, we'll be upgrading to a king bed and wanting a 2nd TV, so we may put aside money for "house gifts," instead of Christmas gifts.

  4. I can't think of anything I really NEED. I WANT a Nook, but I don't know...I feel bad spending that much money on something like that when Santa could bring more....

We'll be here for Turkey Day too. Hosting 13 kids and 15 adults!
